They are now owned by GX Networks who also own the popular hosting company Webfusion. They now have over a million customers (mainly domains) and have made web hosting a core part of their product offering.

123 reg web hosting unfortunately like many other uk hosts don't use a known control panel which would offer so many extras for webmasters like adding free parked, add-on and sub domains to one hosting account. Or advanced stats which cPanel offers.
Summary:
If you are looking for a reliable web host with UK based customer support but don't mind paying an arm and a leg with 123-Reg is recommended. Although they don't use a common control panel like cPanel which offers so many hosting features. Going to a big company has its benifits but unfortunately always has too many negatives for us. No Problems

I bought my website from someone and they passed on with them their hosting service, which in this case was 123reg. I was skeptical at first but soon, my opinion was changed. I have been delighted with their service. Some issues with downtime but it's usually fixed quickly. Being that my website is so simple, the storage space is fine for now as well.

As a brand I didn’t know I was reluctant to go with 123.reg. I’m in my seventies now - the archetypal silver surfer – and have always been happier with bigger names. The price and the package attracted me, though, and I feel that as I have received such excellent service from them across the years it is only right that I tell the rest of you about them. Reliable, affordable, friendly and knowledgeable, easy to use, simple and very comprehensive – this is a service I am staying with, one that does it all for me and without any fuss and bother.

123.reg came to me out of the blue; I used a search engine and expected to find names that I knew and for some reason this one stood out. I asked around all my friends and none used 123.reg, but I decided – for whatever reason – to give them a go. Over a year later and I will never go anywhere else, for all my hosting needs are here. A reliable service, great technical feedback and fast response time, excellent levels of bandwidth and space and superbly easy to use controls make it a good deal – and that’s before you take on board the very reasonable price!
